Coming sometime in late February or early March.
Magnus loved her once but treachery led another man
to claim her, one who delights in breaking her to his will.
The Morgan and Gunn clans in the Highlands of Scotland have been feuding for longer than anyone can remember, until the chiefs decided to foster their sons with each other.
Before Magnus of Clibrick Castle and Feradoch of Kinbrace Castle exchanged places when they reached their seventh year, their fathers ordered them to swear a blood oath that each would uphold the peace when they became men. Once they are grown and return to their own strongholds, should either man be felled by treachery, the other will seek vengeance for the deed.
Magnus the Ruthless is a warrior with fathomless, black eyes that keeps his soul secret. Feradoch, a man so comely everyone believes his soul must be untarnished, never intends to abide by the oath. Once he is chief, he will destroy Magnus, conquer the Morgans and put them in their rightful place—beneath his heel.
Years later when Magnus is called to honor the oath, he never expected to hunt down and hang Muriel of Blackbriar, a bewitching woman he captured and fell in love with when he besieged her castle.

Elyne has sworn to be at Raptor Castle for their
wedding,
but who can blame Graemme for losing his temper
when he finds she's run away?
In the Taming of the Shrew, Katharine met her match in Petruchio. She was fortunate not to be in Elyne of Raptor Castle's shoes. When Elyne goes head to head with Graemme of Clibrick Castle, he checkmates her every move!
Elyne, Ranald of Raptor Castle's sister, has foretelling dreams about the many men her father selects for her to marry. None are suitable. What's a girl to do? Why, scare them off in the wee hours of the morning, of course. Dressed as a wicked old crone, she will curse their precious parts and cause them to shrink like a shriveled carrot if they do not hie themselves away when the drawbridge rises at dawn.
Graemme is not so easily fooled, especially after their first meeting when she falls from a tree. She's been spying on a very naked Graemme bathing at the well. Things go from bad to worse when her father comes upon them in an unmistakably compromising position. After a short talk in the Chief's solar, Graemme is no fool. He vows to marry Elyne in two month's time rather than have his stones nailed to the barbican gate.
Graemme is not the harsh man Magnus is, but a vow made is also sacred to him. Elyne keeps one step ahead of him and leads him a merry and sometimes treacherous race before he gets the better of her.
This was loads of fun to write and I hope you laugh as much as I did. But, all is not laughter. Someone plots to kidnap Elyne when she is having a lucid dream and keep her as a plaything. When he tires of her, he will delight in killing her.

Look at this Gryphon long enough and you'll see his eye blink!
Do you think guarding romance stories embarrasses him?
He can't be that foolish.
I think it's jealousy over Cloud Dancer, the magnificent eagle in the Blackthorn Trilogy.
Pfft! He'll just have to get over it!
