FORBIDDEN:

I decided to use a slice of factual Scottish history and turn it into a novel laden with conflicts and surprises. FORBIDDEN is a great book. This is the smallest blurb I could write that will give you an idea behind the story.

A scarred monk in Scotland's Kelso Abbey has a fearsome temper that causes objects to fly about, turn still waters stormy and candles to light with but a look. In the peace of the abbey, he controls his rage and fights his forbidden desires, but what would he become in the secular world?

'Tis his greatest fear when his father arrives with an army to force him to return to Raptor Castle and wed his deceased twin's betrothed. This monk turned man must now become husband and warrior. It was a hoot to take a man and make him do everything he thought never to do and watch him change into the Alpha personality he had crushed into obedience for fifteen years.

The conflicts in this tale were unusual. Duh! As if you didn't know.

SEDUCED:

Last Friday I celebrated finishing this story. Seduced was difficult to write because of the special conflicts. The heroine is forced to rely on her own strengths when her father couldn't keep her safe. Then when she marries, she again has to be the one who must protect her castle and people when Maud and Stephen's battles threw England into anarchy. She sacrifices all when her husband devises a plan to save Seton Castle.

'Twas a simple plan with very few steps to follow: Capture her enemy, seduce him, bear his child and save her people. But falling in love was not in the plan.

The man was never to know who had seduced him. Talk about conflict? *snicker* It was wonderful fun.

I'll be fine-tuning Seduced this coming month, tightening and making sure I tied up all the loose ends.

Both the above books are more than the usual Historical Romance novels. There're not what I call “Fluff,” or stories where the heroine meets hero, their fluff conflict is that they don't like each other, they're forced to marry and all of a sudden they're in love. Pfft! Gag me.
